Are You On The List?

The List?


Everyday we all have a list of things to do, right? Sometimes the list feels daunting and stressful. You might feel like there aren't enough hours in the day. Cloning yourself might seem an easy fix so you could get it all done. Between work, children, pets, partners, school, church, shopping, etc..., where is Your Time? Maybe you get so caught up in what you feel you "have to do", that the years go by and next thing you know, your kids are grown, you've retired, and you're finding your body in a place of pain, or you're needing medications to control your blood pressure, cholesterol, depression, etc...  You think, "how did I end up like this?"

Taking time for you everyday is the answer and you can always start now! You will always have a "to do list".  So go ahead and put yourself on that list! Schedule in your down time or self care time during your day, everyday.  Your health and well-being are counting on you!  Maybe enjoy a relaxing bath, a massage (at least once a month), a yoga class (twice a week), some pool time, time to meditate, a sauna session, or all of that. Just some YOU time. When you do this, you manage your stress so much better.  You handle your difficult emotions better, i.e. - you keep your blood pressure in balance. Your example teaches your children to take care of themselves and practice self love.  You may laugh more and keep your cool in difficult situations. Your self care/love empowers you and you may have more independence from medications or addictions.

Now is a great time to put yourself on the list! What are you going to do for YOURSELF today?

  1. Take a few moments to allow your mind and body to relax even if it's just for one or two long deep breaths—make sure you can physically see your belly and chest rise. Taking just one minute a day can make a significant difference.
