Alignment is Everything

When I teach yoga, I am all about alignment! It is so important to me, because as I see a student out of alignment, I see struggle and discomfort. The minute they find their alignment, a smile comes over their face or a look of deeper focus that shows they’ve found a deeper sense of their personal power.

Low Back Pain?

Low back pain most commonly happens from the main hip flexor (psoas) pulling the vertebrae forward because it is short and weak from staying closed down by sitting for extended time without stretching it out regularly.

Yoga is such an incredible way to help yourself get to more freedom in your body, it keeps our bodies well balanced!  Lunge stretches are important to get the lowback in balance. If you sit all day, the hip flexors need to be stretched open and movement is important to improve circulation.

Green Smoothie Recipe!

We have opened up to the world of whole food smoothies!  We had been juicing for over a year and finally got ourselves a high powered blender.  We bought a Health Master 2.5 horsepower Blender (Montel Williams one)  it was an inexpensive option ($250) and is serving us well.  Vitamix and Blendtec blenders are highly recommended and cost about $400.

Why do whole food smoothies?  You get a huge quota of fruits and vegetables in an easy and convenient drink.  They are power packed w/ phytochemicals, fiber, vitamins, and minerals that fresh fruits and vegetables naturally provide!  Nature is perfect!

Back Pain usually needs a Tummy Rub!

At The Posture Project, we are postural experts.  A person can come to us with pain in a certain area in their body and we can usually tell where the source of the pain is coming from just by looking at their posture and asking a few questions about what they do all day.

We've had several new clients that have gotten massage regularly come to us this week, all with low back pain.  Each one of them has been surprised when we share with them that we will most likely need to work in their abdomen to address their pain.  They all had their first abdominal massage this week!

See Source in Others

Healing old, very old heart wounds has been on the surface for me recently.  Actually, very on the surface for the last 8 months.  I'm allowing the unfolding and each layer that I uncover, the clarity that always comes through is "self love."

After I get through my frustration, impatience, and disallowing of others (others is usually how the wound is brought to the surface.  Thank you all others!)  It always gets back to me.  Those feelings I'm having toward others are twice as strong for myself and are eminating from my view of myself, i.e. they are a pure reflection.

And another one! Online Yoga Videos that is...

Annie's on fire!  Our new Mac Mini sure is serving us well in that she is tearing it up with her editing our new yoga videos!  She's having so much fun!  I even like to do my own videos!  It's a little "de ja vue", but still awesome!  Check 'em out @ http://www.thepostureprojectyoga.com/.

New Yoga Videos!

We've added 2 new yoga videos to our online yoga studio this week!

Our Purpose...

Our purpose is to remind people to give themselves permission to be joyful, to accept themselves in their current magnificence, to celebrate all that they can do right now and open to more in every moment of every day. We encourage them to listen to their hearts, the whispers of their spirits, the callings of their Being. We nudge them to hear what really jives them, what really inspires them, what really makes them smile from the inside out. We give them an opportunity to feel and understand the difference between feeling great and feeling anything other than great.
